I am a vey high opinion about Ann Applebaum. She is the only one of all American and not, journalists, who went through all Soviet Gulag camps. She made a map of them, she visited them on the most Northern part of Russia, behind the Arctic Circle and the Eastern Part of Russia, including Magadan. Nobody knows Russia better. Or may be you?
